On May 12, Chengdu Customs released the foreign trade data of our province for the previous four months. In the first 4 months, the total value of import and export of goods trade in our province was 228.24 billion yuan, ranking 8th in the country. The ranking rose by one place compared with the first quarter, an increase of 17.3% over the same period last year, and the growth rate ranked third in the country. Among them, exports were 119.77 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.2%; imports were 108.47 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.6%. In April, the province's import and export of goods was 69.17 billion yuan, an increase of 36.1%.

 

In terms of trade methods, imports and exports of processing trade increased year-on-year. In the first 4 months, our province imported 144.95 billion yuan in processing trade, a year-on-year increase of 22.5%, accounting for 63.5% of the province's total foreign trade import and export value during the same period. In terms of trade areas, the value of imports and exports to ASEAN, the United States, the European Union, Japan, and South Korea accounted for 71.3% of the province’s total foreign trade imports and exports during the same period; the value of imports and exports to countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” reached 72.37 billion Yuan, a year-on-year increase of 39.8%, with Vietnam, Poland and Israel increasing by 80.7%, 2.8 times, and 10.4 times respectively.

 

In terms of foreign trade products, mechanical and electrical products dominate imports and exports, and imports of agricultural products have increased. In the first four months, imported agricultural products were 1.97 billion yuan, an increase of 24.7%. (Reporter   Luo Zhizai)
