"One Belt One Road" 5th Anniversary · Sichuan Trip
According to statistics from Chengdu Customs, the import and export value of our province and the countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" reached 86.64 billion yuan in the first 7 months, an increase of 30.3% over the same period last year, which is higher than the province's foreign trade import and export in the same period. The growth rate continued to maintain the momentum of rapid growth.
The data shows that Sichuan's import and export trade with Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe has increased significantly, with Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, and Hungary increasing by 1.7 times, 1.6 times and 97.3% respectively, and with Indonesia, Vietnam, Israel, Poland, the Czech Republic and other countries. The growth rate of the import and export value of both companies exceeded 50%.
The strong growth of foreign trade is inseparable from the active expansion of Sichuan. In the Czech Republic, Sichuan New Green Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. cooperated with the Chinese Medicine Hospital affiliated to Southwest Medical University to jointly build a Chinese medicine center in the Czech Republic. Relying on this platform, Sichuan has introduced more than 100 kinds of Chinese medicine granules to the Czech market at the beginning of this year.
The Provincial Department of Commerce has taken the lead in formulating the "Belt and Road Initiative 251 Action Plan", which is to lock 20 key countries for in-depth development, select 50 major projects to strongly promote, and select 100 foreign economic and trade advantage enterprises to demonstrate and drive, and comprehensively improve Sichuan and the "Belt and Road" The level of economic and trade cooperation among countries and regions along the “One Road”. Our province also relies on activities such as the "Three Major Activities" and "Thousands of Enterprises on the Silk Road" to expand the market and carry out economic and trade promotion activities in different regions to promote Sichuan's products, services and technologies to develop the "Belt and Road" market.
In terms of investment promotion, cooperation between Sichuan and the countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” is growing rapidly. Focusing on international production capacity cooperation, our province uses a combination of overseas mergers and acquisitions, investment and construction of factories, and project contracting to open up the space for external development of enterprises. At present, there are more than 70 economic and trade capacity cooperation projects planned, reserved, and under construction in the countries and regions along the "Belt and Road", with a total value of nearly 300 billion yuan. In Belarus, the Sino-Belarusian Industrial Park jointly built by Chengdu's new roads and bridges and the local area has been completed and put into production, which is a model of the combination of Chinese high-tech and traditional Belarusian manufacturing. Statistics from the Provincial Development and Reform Commission show that about one-third of Sichuan’s foreign trade and four-fifths of foreign contracted projects are deployed in countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”. In 2017, the amount of newly signed project contracts with countries and regions along the route accounted for the province’s 82% of the total.
In terms of platform construction, Sichuan pays close attention to the construction of international cooperation platforms, builds and operates a China-Europe center, and creates a "Belt and Road" economic liaison base. It has attracted 38 countries along the "Belt and Road" and about 150 international organizations, institutions and enterprises to settle in; National cooperation parks in Germany, China, France, China, Italy, China, South Korea, Sichuan, Sichuan, Sichuan, Czech Republic, Sichuan and Russia are accelerating. Major exhibitions such as West China Expo and High-tech Expo have become important windows and platforms for Sichuan to integrate into the world and connect the world.
In terms of channel construction, the China-Europe Express Train (Chengdu) has opened 16 international trains and 14 domestic train routes, forming a cross-border train network of "one main, multiple auxiliary, multiple points direct" and a "Y"-shaped international logistics channel .
